Idea of ‘Door-step Doctor’ by CHD Group

The interventions of the CHD Group in the health sector aim to enhance deprived and marginalized communities’ access to high-quality health care. CHD Group works at the individual and community levels to create solutions and assist in the implementation of quality healthcare services by identifying the root causes of healthcare challenges.
Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) have been described as a strengthened approach to address primary health care requirements by bringing healthcare to people doorsteps in underserved communities.

The CHD Group’s MMU, Ek Swasthya Abhiyan works towards this strategy through a cross-sectoral approach. It offers a framework for addressing health priorities in an integrated and systematic manner, which provides a roadmap for promoting multispectral action at the grass-root level. It advocates for the entire community’s focus on health and is a useful tool in strengthening innovative ways of working across sectors.
The CHD Group model of community health project works in three verticals – universal health coverage based on the principles of equity, public health awareness, and community empowerment.
